Did you know that this Sunday 24th March is National Cocktail Day!? To celebrate we’re launching a new range of ready made cocktails from Bar Buoy!
Launched in 2020 Bar Buoy produce excellent pre-mixed cocktails made using premium and locally sourced spririts. Founders Tim and Ria have extensive knowledge of the drinks industry and being behind and in front of bars around the world.
For this reason they wanted to create cocktails that taste great but can also be made and served quickly. Making them perfect for bars and restaurants. Equally their cocktails work really well for the ease and convenience of home entertaining. Especially when you want something that looks as though you’ve put loads of effort in but is ready to serve to your guests in seconds.
Like us Tim & Ria are champions of supporting local and to this end their ready made cocktails are crafted using as many local producers as possible, from Salcombe Gin and Tors Vodka to Owen’s Coffee.
We were lucky enough to be invited to one of their recent tasting evenings to discover more both about the business and of course the products. This meant an evening of cocktail tasting – someone’s got to do it I guess!
Each cocktail is rigorously tried and tested until it is deemed good enough to be bottled. Their flavours are well known classics but with a Devon twist. For instance their Devon Stormy which, you guessed it, is based on the Dark n Stormy is a rum based cocktail with ginger beer and lime. The Bar Buoy version is made using local Two Drifters Signature Dark Rum.

Espresso Martini
A Taste of the West award winner last year, this classic cocktail is given a Devon spin with Tors Vodka, coffee liqueur and Owen’s Cold Brew coffee. A rich and indulgent cocktail to start the night the right way!
Seabird
One of my favourites this is based on a Paloma but made with gin rather than tequila. Salcombe Gin, pink grapefruit, lime juice and agave are combined to produce a refreshing citrus and slightly bitter flavour – delicious!
Raspberry Daiquiri
Another favourite this one definitely packs a punch of flavour! Produced using Two Drifters Pure White Rum, Tors Raspberry Liqueur, raspberry and lime it is fruity and sweet, a general crowd pleaser!
Mojito
A summer staple the Mojito is bursting with freshness. Simply crafted using Two Drifters Pure White Rum combined with mint, sugar and lime this is wonderfully refreshing and full of flavour.
Margarita
This one needs no introduction really, a classic margarita made with tequila blanco, triple sec, agave and lime – take us to the beach now please!
Passionfruit Martini
Found on most cocktail menus this is another crowd pleaser with a sweet, fruity flavour. Made with Tors Vodka, passionfruit liqueur, passionfruit, vanilla & lime.
