Description
One of the most popular cheeses of Italy it was created by the Cistercian monks of Chiaravalle in the 12 century and is still produced throughout the PO River Valley in north-eastern Italy. It is a hard cheese with a slightly crumbly texture and sweet flavour. Although it is very similar to Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano is a lot milder and is less crumbly.
