5 of the best recipes with… Sausages

The humble sausage has been around for millennia. Rumoured to be enjoyed in the Middle East as far back as the Bronze Age and later by the Ancient Greeks and Romans, today they remain as popular as ever. We’ve complied some of our favourite recipes using this versatile ingredient including a simple traybake, hearty stew and a smoky chilli.

Mary Berry’s Sausage Traybake

This simple one pot is so easy to make but tastes delicious. It’s a family favourite in our house made with W.F Chinn Cumberland sausages. The roasted garlic turns delicously sweet and mellow which compliments the herby sausages.

Sausage, Bean & Kale Stew

Another one pot recipe this is packed full of flavour, try adding in some dried thyme with the paprika. We love making with W.F Chinn’s red onion sausages. 

Smoky Sausage & Black Bean Chilli

Who would have thought of sausages in a chilli but it works! The W.F Chinn chorizo sausages add to the general smoky flavour. We are lovers of heat and always add in some fresh chopped ancho chillies when you add the other spices and garlic.

Toad in the Hole 

We couldn’t write a blog on sausage recipes and not include one for this British classic! We like to keep traditional and use locally made W.F Chinn pork sausages. Serve with proper roasties and lashings of gravy – perfection!

An alternative to traditional pigs in blankets these are the perfect side dish for your Christmas dinner and best news of all, the prep can be done in advance – Joy to the World indeed!
